Goodbye Paul de Jongh |
|
It is with deep sadness that we heard of the passing of Paul de Jongh. He was a gentle soul with a passionate conviction of what it was to be a studio potter. He was generous in sharing his knowledge and experience and always made time to assist anyone with an interest in ceramics. His wood-firing, raku and electric-fired work and his beautiful studio and home were a testament to the love and care he put into everything he did.
Our thoughts are with his family, Nina, Sarah-Lee, Joshua, and his Mom, Mother-in-law and siblings

Amaco Test Tile Tuesday |
|
This week, we are bringing you some tiles on which we fired the low-fire Crystaltex glazes (typically a cone 05 colorful spotted glaze series) all the way up to CONE 3. The effect is this lovely, fluid mutlicolor glaze that changes depending on which glaze you choose. How will they look at Cone 5? More fluid?
Remember to always stilt your work or use soft brick when testing glazes outside of their firing range! Happy Testing! These CTL's in order from closest to furthest are CTL-9 Snapdragon, CTL-12 Mardi Gras, and CTL-71 Purple Blaze.

St.Agnes extra mural art classes - A BIG THANK YOU |
|
Dear Cape Pottery Supplies team
Bella and I just wanted to say thank you so much again for your very generous
donation of clay to our art project at At.Agnes in Woodstock, as well as firing all the work for us.
It was a huge success and the classes were so much fun with the kids producing
some beautiful ceramics.
I have attached here a document with some photos of the classes as well as the
final installation of the tiles.
Thank you again for the support, with deep appreciation
Daniella and Bella
